The Miami Blue Herons are an American professional baseball franchise based in Miami, Florida. They are in the North American Baseball Association's Continental League, and are one of the four 1990 Expansion teams in the league, having been formed alongside the Columbus Explorers, Arizona Sidewinders, and the Portland Loggers. They play in Sunoco Field, which was erected in 2005 as the successor to Sunside Park. The team has yet to go to the playoffs, one of three teams with this distinction, and the oldest team of this three. They have never finished higher than 4th in their division, the season in which this occurred happening 2 years before 4th place was considered a playoff spot, following the 2012 Expansion.
