The Edmonton Trappers are a Canadian professional baseball franchise based in Edmonton, Alberta. They play in the North American Baseball Association's Continental League. The Trappers were formed in 1950 as the London Mets, short for Meteors, located in London, Ontario. They moved in 2003 abruptly, citing a desire to change venues that the city was not willing to pay for. The move caused controversy and anger in the baseball world, specifically amongst London fans, as the team was in the midst of a successful run.
The Trappers have been in the American Grand Finals twice, both as the Mets, in 1975 and 1995. They have yet to win a championship.
