Alan Martin Sanders (born May 27, 1985) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Carolina Charlies of the North American Baseball Association. He was drafted by the Charlies in Round 1 of the 2004 Draft, the eighth pick overall, and debuted 4 years later in 2008. The pitcher was signed to a 6-year extension in 2012, to mixed reviews from sportswriters and fans alike. Thompson was a 1 time All-Star in 2014, and a 3-time game-started leader. He was noted by his manager Elias Baeza for his endurance and vivacity on the field.
